Mansour Riahi, managing director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, has told Shana that Iran is exporting 64 million liters of petroleum products per day which is expected to rise to 80 million liters by the end of the year.
He said Iran for the first time in the past 100 years became an exporter of petroleum items in this year and is currently exporting some 400,000 barrels of oil products (50 ml of fuel oil and 14 ml of gasoil) on a daily basis.
Riahi further said Iran can boost its exports to 80 million liters per day which has not been materialized due to certain infrastructural shortcomings like lack of access to international transportation systems both in the sea and land and international monetary systems as well as insurance policies and facilities.
The official also added that in order to boost the countrys exports, certain other measures like completing the under-construction projects need to be taken in the country.
