TEHRAN (NIORDC) __ The petrol production capacity of Iran"s Persian Gulf Star Gas Condensate Refinery has increased by 1.5 million liters per day to 27.5 ml/d.
Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC) Alireza Sadighabadi said production of petrol had increased by 1.5 ml/d given the rising demand for the item domestically.
The plant, also known as Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery, is currently supplying 27.5 million liters of petrol on a daily basis, the official said upon visiting the facility in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran.
Sadiqabadi, who is also deputy petroleum minster for refining and distribution of petroleum products, said phase III of the plant comprises distillation, naphtha hydrogen refining and petrol production units, of which distillation unit is fully operational and can be fed by 120,000 b/d of feedstock.
Once operating at full tilt, the plant can supply 40 ml/d of petrol, which would turn Iran into a petrol exporter.
The official also expressed optimism that the refinery"s petrol output would cross 30 ml/d by early September.
