Fuel supply Unhalted in Quake-Stricken Areas

TEHRAN, Nov.19 (NIORDC) - Spokeswoman of the National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC) says supply of fuel is being carried out unhalted in quake-stricken areas in the western province of Kermanshah.
Ziba Esmaeili, NIORDC public relations director, said the company has been supplying fuel to the affected areas without any noteworthy trouble since the quakes outbreak.
A deadly quake shook the Iran-Iraq border region in the early hours of Monday, with the epicenter about 31km outside the eastern Iraqi city of Halabja.
"The quake was felt in several Iranian provinces bordering Iraq ... Eight villages were damaged ... Electricity has been cut in some villages and rescue teams have been dispatched to those areas," Irans state TV reported.
People were staying out on the streets in towns in the Western Kermanshah province because of the threat from aftershocks, a local Red Crescent official told TV.
NIORDC spokeswoman said kerosene stocks of the company in mountainous areas are at a suitable state and there are no problems supplying fuels like gasoil, gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG).
She said there are three mobile CNG stations in the region that offer fuel to the locals in Sare-Pole Zahab.
So far, NIORDC has distributed over 2.8 million liters of gasoline and 2.5 million liters of kerosene as well as 2 million liters of kerosene.
It has also distributed over 7,000 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) capsules in quake-stricken areas.
