Bandar Abbas Refinery launches unit to enhance Petrol Output

BANDAR ABBAS, Feb. 28 (NIORDC) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated two projects at Bandar Abbas Refinery, southern Iran, to increase the quality and quantity of the gasoline output of the facility.
The two projects, namely, a gasoline production unit and a heavy naphtha hydrotreater (HNHT) plant, were launched on Wednesday in a ceremony that, besides President Rouhani, saw the attendance of Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh and his deputy for refining and distribution of petroleum products, Alireza Sadiqabadi.
The units comprise 9 cylindrical tanks, two spherical reservoirs, one desalination plant, three flare stacks, one cooling tower and one nitrogen unit.
A total of €600 million was invested for construction of the projects, which created at least 602 direct jobs.
The refining capacity of the gasoline unit is 25,000 barrels per day while that of the isomerization unit is 20,000 barrels per day.
A daily production of 12 million liters of gasoline which meets Euro-4 standards, reducing emission of pollutants, energy efficiency optimization, maximum utilization of capacities, provision of productive employment opportunities, and creation of the necessary training ground for skilled forces are some of the goals envisaged in building the project.
The isomerization unit of the project will come online in the first half of the next year.
