Imported Petrol used for filling Strategic Inventories

TEHRAN, Dec. 24 (NIORDC) — National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC) says Irans gasoline imports since October have been used to fill the countrys inventories.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, NIORDC Managing Director Alireza Sadighabadi said the inventories are tapped in various occasions throughout the year to supply the countrys demand for the item.
He said one of such days was the recent earthquake in Tehran which rocketed demand for gasoline in the Iranian capital.
Sadighabadi, who is also deputy petroleum minister for refining and distribution affairs, revered NIORDCs reception of the tremor, saying the company acted so great that none of the countrys gas stations were left without petrol supplies.
The company managed distribution of over 30 million liters of petrol in a matter of a day and a half, he added.
An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 struck a town near the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday night.
Last month, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake hit villages and towns in Iran’s western Kermanshah province along the mountainous border with Iraq, killing 620 people and injuring thousands of others.
Authorities said they were gathering information about the latest quake, which hit in the late evening at a depth of 7 km (4 miles).
